CBRE Global Investors has opened the 18,700 m2 Leonard retail park in Brussels.

The retail park features one the world’s largest Decathlon stores (10,000 m2) and incorporates the sports retailer's Belgian and Luxembourg headquarters. Other retailer tenants include Quick, Ava Papier and Jim’s Fitness.

The property also includes child day care facility, fitness area and an outdoor sports area.

CBRE completed the project in its capacity as investment manager and developer for a separate account client.

Patrick Meutermans, head of Belgium, CBRE Global Investors commented, 'The redevelopment of this park is a success story to date. We have managed to secure high quality retailers, develop the social aspect of the park and created a very sustainable and ‘green’ development as well.

'This was in essence an abandoned site that had very high vacancy rates and also had many unsuccessful attempts to revitalise it. We have worked with the local economy and business community to provide a park that meets the needs of all the users and we’re very proud of what we have achieved in a short time frame.'
