CBRE has opened a new office in Houten, Netherlands, servicing the Utrecht region. The office was formerly the headquarters of SCM Europe, the shopping centre management specialist, which was acquired by CBRE in 2011.

The global real estate adviser now has five offices in the Netherlands, including its headquarters in Amsterdam and operations in Hoofddorp, The Hague and Rotterdam. The new office will provide a fully integrated offer including all advisory services for the occupier and investment markets alongside Shopping Centre Management and Retail Development Services provided by the former SCM team.

Martien van Deursen, the director responsible for the successful launch of CBRE's Rotterdam office in 2010, has been appointed to lead the new office and the extension of CBRE's commercial activities in the Utrecht market. Siebe de Boo, who recently joined the company from DTZ Zadelhoff, will be responsible for regional leasing assignments.
