Catella Corporate Finance is expanding its transactional advisory services in Sweden by adding real estate auctions. So far four - domestic and foreign - real estate portfolio owners have said they will be listing properties in the auctions which are planned to take place in October-November 2012.

'This type of sales process is currently used both in Great Britain as well as Germany and works very well there. Allsop in Great Britain is one example. After the successes in the Kefren auctions in 2011, we see great potential for this sales arrangement in Sweden as well,' said Erik Westerlund, a partner at Catella Corporate Finance.

Last year Catella sold the 146-asset Kefren portfolio of Swedish properties in a series of auctions on behalf of special servicer Capita Asset Services (formerly Barclays Capital Mortgage Servicing) for a total of EUR 450 mln.

Catella said preparations are under way for real estate auctions for a number of properties of various types located throughout the country and worth up to SEK 50 mln (EUR 5.6 mln).

Detailed information about the properties and the sales process will be made available in September.
