The new business will offer new residential funds for institutional clients, as well as individual investment strategies for national and international investors seeking to extend their exposure in European residential investments.
It will be led by Xavier Jongen, who previously headed the residential IM division of Dutch Group Bouwfonds, where he set up a European residential and student housing investment platform, with equity of over €1.5 bn.
The residential investment platform will focus on the acquisition of both existing assets and new developments.
Catella Real Estate already services an established European open-end residential fund, with assets of €900 mln.
