Robert Karlsson, current director of investment management in Catella Asset Management (CAM) has been appointed as managing director of Catella Asset Management Finland.
He will start his new position on 2 May.
Karlsson has been at Catella since 2021 and has extensive experience in investment management and transactions, both in Finland and the Nordics.
He will further strengthen Catella’s position in the Finnish and Nordic investment management operations. He succeeds Jussi Rouhento who is taking on new challenges outside Catella.
'We are delighted that Robert Karlsson will take the lead of CAM Finland. The business area Investment Management has had a strong AUM growth, with an average annual growth of 25% since its start in 2015.
'Robert’s broad competence and experience in the Finnish and Nordic investment markets will be a great support in executing Catella’s further growth strategy. At the same time, we want to thank Jussi Rouhento for his contribution to Catella,' said Timo Nurminen, head of investment management.
Said Karlsson: 'I am excited about this new challenge and the opportunity to continue my journey with Catella’s team. Catella has robust growth ambitions in Finland, and I want to contribute to strengthen and sharpen the role of investment and asset management services in the future.
'I see that the changing market environment provide us plenty of new opportunities where we can use our strengths. I am convinced that we will find lots of new and interesting businesses even in somewhat slower pace investment market.'
Since 2015, Catella has made major investments in the investment management business area. The offering covers regulated property fund management and asset management services.
The business area has created an organisation that today covers 10 countries in Europe and has since the start more than quadrupled assets under management to over €13 bn.
