The Catalan government has clinched a EUR 52 mln sale-and-leaseback deal for its Territory and Sustainability department headquarters in Barcelona.

The buyer is the local family office Bancale Group. Jones Lang LaSalle advised the vendor.

According to Spanish press reports, the Catalan authorities paid EUR 60 mln to acquire the asset from Inmobiliaria Colonial back in 2009.

The Catalan government announced late last year that it was planning to sell a EUR 450 mln property portfolio in an effort to strengthen its finances.
