The project, part of a new drive to establish the large-scale logistics required to support the harbour's expansion, represents a total investment of SEK 220 mln (€23 mln), including land acquisition.

'We’re now strengthening our portfolio quality with excellently situated logistics facilities, featuring high versatility and quality,' said Henrik Saxborn, CEO of Castellum.

The building – part one of the Hisingen Logistics Park – covers an area of just over 26,000 m2, and is scheduled for completion during the first quarter of 2018. The building will be environmentally certified under the Miljöbyggnad system, aiming for Silver level.

In total, Castellum has been awarded 127,000 m2 of land in the logistics park area, with 60,000 m2 of this designated built area. The company is currently Sweden’s largest owner of storage and logistics properties with a gross commercial portfolio of around SEK 71 b (€7.4 bn).
