Colliers International has secured three anchor tenants for Carrefour Tzarigradsko Mall in Sofia over the past three weeks: Spanish retail giant Inditex, fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg and Kino Arena.
Inditex will enter the Bulgarian market with five of its brands: Zara, Bershka, Stradivarius, Pull and Bear and Massimo Dutti. Kino Arena is the largest cinema operator in Bulgaria and will provide 12 cinemas at the mall. This is the company's fifth cinema complex in Bulgaria.
The leasing agreement with Peek & Cloppenburg is the largest-ever fashion lease in Bulgaria, providing for a 3,600 m2 flagship store. Meanwhile the Massimo Dutti shop will be the only one in Bulgaria. The other Inditex brands are also available at Grand Mall Varna.
'We are very pleased to have secured these important tenants for Carrefour Tzarigradsko Mall,' said David Davidov, Director Commercial Brokerage Services, Colliers International. 'The market is currently quite cautious, but these transactions are a clear indication of the confidence in the project and the Bulgarian retail market.'
Carrefour Tzarigradsko Mall is the largest shopping mall currently under construction in Bulgaria with a gross leasable area of 66,000 m2. It is expected to open in the spring of 2010.
