French retail giant Carrefour has announced the appointment of Francis Mauger as executive director of property development. He will supervise the activities of Carrefour Property in France, Spain and Italy working alongside Yves Cadelano, who is reinforcing the real estate division as director Carrefour Property France.

The appointment will be effective from 18 June.

Since 2006, Cadelano has served as executive vice-president of Mercialys, the real estate subsidiary of the Casino Group, which he joined in 2004.

Anne-Marie Aurières-Perrin was appointed deputy director Carrefour Property France. Andrea Orsa and Justo Martin remain respectively director Carrefour Property Italy and director Carrefour Property Spain.

The appointments follow the resignation in November last year of Carrefour's property boss Pascal Duhamel after the company shelved plans to spin off the division due to worsening market conditions. Duhamel was appointed as executive director of the group's real estate subsidiary in 2008, primarily to lead the separation of Carrefour's real estate portfolio into a separate listed unit. His resignation reflected the decision by the French retail giant to pull its Initial Public Offering indefinitely.
