In its Sankt. Petri Passage building in Copenhagen, Carlyle has let 10,000 m2 to law firm Bruun & Hjejle and German school Sankt Petri Schule. In Finland, Carlyle has also secured new tenants for 16,000 m2 of space across several of its buildings in Helsinki.
'We are very pleased to have secured these new lettings as they underline our belief in the Nordic region and the quality of our assets,' said Anders Hörnqvist, Property Director of Carlyle Europe Real Estate.
Carlyle Group opened its first dedicated Nordic real estate office in Stockholm, Sweden in June 2006. The company has grown strongly in the region over the past three years.
Additionally, the company said it has submitted an outline planning application for Ivy Wharf, its 8.42 acre site in Salford Quays, near Manchester, together with a detailed application for the regeneration of Soapworks, the former Colgate Palmolive factory located in the heart of Ivy Wharf. The company is seeking to redevelop the existing factory into a 35,000 m2 office building with retail and leisure space on the ground floor. In addition, it has submitted an outline planning application for the development of the wider Ivy Wharf site and an extension to the Soapworks building, to include a 200-bed hotel, a retail element, residential as well as further office space.
