Cushman & Wakefield has won an exclusive commission as letting agent for the 10,000m2 Becsi Corner Office Building complex, in the centre of Obuda. Built by Hungarian developer Biggeorge, the scheme will provide 7,300 m2 of office space and close to 3,000 m2 of catering and commercial space on completion in the spring of 2009. The smallest rentable office space will be 200 m2.
The Becsi Corner Office Building includes a combination of old and new buildings. Following a state-of-the-art renovation, the existing protected buildings will offer category A office facilities. Two new office wings will also be built. The project is located, at Kolossy tér, the most important commercial and traffic junction of Obuda.
'It is a great pleasure for us to receive this commission to let the Becsi Corner office building,' said Zsuzsa Fekete, head of C&W's office business unit. ‘Thanks to its well thought-out area development concept, the project will rejuvenate a complex of buildings that would otherwise have been condemned to ruin, and enable them to be reintegrated into the mainstream of business life in Budapest,’ she added.
'We are happy to work together with Cushman & Wakefield as real estate consultant for the lease of the Becsi Corner Office Building,' said András Csoma, deputy CEO of Biggeorge’s-NV Zrt. 'Due to their central location and specific architectural style, the buildings are already special in their own right, but the facilities will become still more attractive once the interior work has been completed. The complex of four buildings will allow for a broad range of tenant demands to be met,' he added.
Biggeorge is one of the leading property development companies in Hungarian and currently handles real estate development projects of a total value in excess of HUF 150 bn (EUR 568 mln).
