Cushman & Wakefield has appointed John Elkann as its chairman.

Elkann is currently chairman and CEO of Exor, C&W’s controlling shareholder, and also of Italian car maker Fiat. Current C&W chair Carlo Barel di Sant'Albano will take the newly created position of international CEO, reporting to COO Edward Forst.

‘Cushman & Wakefield is one of Exor’s largest investments and we are strongly committed to supporting its development, helping it to achieve its full potential,’ said Elkann.

Exor is an investment company owned by Italy’s Agnelli family. Along with Fiat and C&W, Exor owns the Serie A football club Juventus.

Elkann is the great-great-grandson of Fiat founder Giovanni Agnelli.
