Cushman & Wakefield has hired Hanns-Joachim Fredrich as a partner and head of its Berlin office.

Fredrich, 45, joins C&W on 1 June 2012 after 15 years with DTZ Germany. In addition to heading the firm's Berlin office he will be specifically focused on building C&W's capital markets business.

'The further growth of the capital markets service line is a main focus of C&W's expansion plans in Germany in line with the firm's strategic growth plan,' the broker said. The company currently has capital markets teams in Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg and Munich.

The appointment of Fredrich follows several recent hires in Germany including Nina Jansen and Andreas Gast to lead the Property & Asset Management business and Jens Bohnlein, as head of Project Management.
