Cushman & Wakefield has confirmed that Oriol Barrachina, partner and director of the Barcelona office, will take over from Roger Cooke as head of the Spanish business.

Cushman & Wakefield has confirmed that Oriol Barrachina, partner and director of the Barcelona office, will take over from Roger Cooke as head of the Spanish business.

The appointment takes effect on 1 January 2014.

Roger Cooke announced on 10 September that he is to step down at the beginning of 2014 but will remain at the firm through the transition period until Barrachina takes over. Cooke has led the Spanish business since 1995.

Barrachina joined the firm in 1997 and was made a partner and member of the Spanish board in 2002. He has been head of Cushman & Wakefield’s Barcelona office since 2005. He currently holds national responsibilities for co-ordinating the service lines of business space, property & asset management and project management.

Barrachina has a degree in Economics and Business from the University of Barcelona and University of Amberes (UFSIA) and holds an MBA from the University Pompeu Fabra.
