Property adviser Cushman & Wakefield has completed the acquisition of New York-based real estate investment banking specialist Sonnenblick Goldman. The debt and equity finance firm will be renamed Cushman & Wakefield Sonnenblick Goldman, C&W said in a press release.

The acquisition is part of Cushman’s strategy to expand its global capital markets platform. C&W noted that Sonnenblick has a solid reputation for real estate financing and hospitality sale and finance transactions. The firm will provide specialised debt structuring, mortgage banking, equity raising, brokerage and advisory services to real estate owners, investors and developers. Sonnenblick Goldman principals will maintain a significant ownership position in the new group.
Steve Kohn, president of Sonnenblick Goldman, has been named president of Cushman & Wakefield Sonnenblick Goldman. Tom MacManus, executive vice president and head of Cushman & Wakefield’s Debt & Equity Finance practice, has been appointed chairman and chief executive officer.
