Cushman & Wakefield has been appointed exclusive agent for the commercialisation of Poland's Katowice Railway Station shopping gallery.

The modernisation project includes the construction of a complex comprising a railway station, bus station, retail and service centre as well as business and cultural centre in the heart of Katowice's Wilhelma Szewczyka Square.

A retail and service scheme will be fully integrated with the main railway station. The shopping gallery will occupy the whole area of Szewczyka Square. Total area of the centre will be 53,000 m2 spread over 5 storeys. In addition, it will offer two-storey underground car parking for 1,200 vehicles. The western wing will feature a 7-storey office park. The new railway station facility and retail and office scheme will be linked with a pedestrian passageway called Fashion Avenue (Aleja Mody).

Planned opening of the centre is scheduled for 2012. The delivery of a stand-alone office building is projected for Q4 2013.

Spanish firm Neinver is the scheme's investor and developer.
