Caerus Debt Investments has announced the appointment of Peter Anthuber as new chief investment officer with effect from 1 July 2021.
He will replace Patrick Züchner, who is leaving the executive board. As CIO, Anthuber will be primarily responsible for loan origination and loan portfolio management. In addition, in collaboration with Michael Morgenroth (CEO) and Bernhard Berg (COO), he will develop strategies for the further growth of Caerus.
Peter Anthuber has almost 25 years of professional experience in the areas of investment banking, structured finance, real estate and real estate financing and holds a degree in business administration. He was previously managing director at BNP Paribas in the Corporate and Investment Banking / Real Estate Capital Markets division.
Since 2016, he was responsible for building up the Real Estate Capital Markets division in Germany, implementing the commercial real estate financing business and building a portfolio of around €2 bn. In addition, he established the German Corporate Real Estate business and assisted real estate groups, among others, in (capital market) financing transactions totaling €14 bn.
Prior to this, Anthuber was executive director at BNP Paribas for nine years in the area of leveraged finance EMEA and supported international private equity investors with (capital market) financings in the DACH region. Further positions in his career were held at UniCredit/HypoVereinsbank, Lazard and Deutsche Bank.
