Chicago-based, real estate investor CA Ventures has appointed Giuseppe Zafferri as new head of the Italian operations short after announcing plans to invest some €900 mln per annum in the development of Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) across Europe.

Zafferri joins from Eurotekna Milano, where he worked for 12 years, recently as head of acquisitions, projects and construction management, dealing with joint ventures with companies such as JP Morgan and BlackRock.

CA Ventures, which launched its European business in September, said that it plans to spend €170 mln a year in the region, especially in Milan, Turin, Bologna and Florence. The company will be based in Milan.
