Bywater Properties has appointed Pavlos Clifton as its new head of development.
Clifton joins from Helical, where he was a senior development executive, and brings with him 23 years of experience in the London and wider UK property sector across project management, sustainability and architecture.
At Bywater, Clifton will be responsible for leading the delivery of all projects across the portfolio.
Said Clifton: 'Bywater has an exciting approach to turning both new schemes and distressed assets into ESG gems through clever design with timber.
'The business plan to lead the way in the delivery of best in class, sustainable schemes across London are exciting and are exactly what the capital needs.
'I look forward to joining their dynamic team to lead the delivery and assist their growth targets.'
Other recent appointments include chairman Richard Walker, Patrick O’Gorman CEO and Theo Michell COO.
Bywater said it would be making further hires after embarking on a long-term partnership with Sumitomo Forestry Co, a global, end-to-end timber construction specialist, in 2023.
The two companies are working together to invest in timber-led, retrofit and new-build commercial schemes across the UK.
Michell said: 'Pavlos brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in delivering outstanding development projects that will be extremely valuable as Bywater takes its next steps.
'With the support of a strong and growing team we will continue to develop our portfolio of projects, both in number and scale, with an unrelenting focus on building with sustainable materials, particularly timber.
'At Bywater, we are resolute in playing a leading role in the decarbonisation of the development industry. We are committed to delivering projects that have a positive impact on the planet, our occupiers and the wider community in which we build.’
