British Land has appointed David Walker as its new chief financial officer, taking over from Bhavesh Mistry who steps down on 20 November.
Walker had been chief operating officer and an executive committee member at British Land since 2021. He was previously head of investor relations and served as interim CFO from November 2020 to July 2021, after joining the UK company in 2017.
Prior to British Land, Walker worked for over 10 years in investor relations, strategy, finance and corporate development roles within UK listed businesses. Until 2023, he was Chair of the UK Investor Relations Society, having served on its board since 2012.
Simon Carter, CEO at British Land, said: ‘I am delighted David will be joining the Board as CFO. He has delivered significant value and efficiencies as our Chief Operating Officer and is ideally placed to bring his experience to again lead our expert finance team as we capitalise on the strong momentum in the business.’
