Land Securities and Hammerson, the Alliance partners responsible for developing the UK's largest regeneration scheme, Cabot Circus in Bristol, said that they have secured lease agreements with another eight retailers at the city centre retail and leisure destination. The latest signings bring the scheme to 85% let ahead of its opening in autumn 2008.
The new lets at the high profile mixed use development include lifestyle retailers Apple, The White Company, and Fred Perry. They will all open stores in Quakers Friars, the scheme’s focus for designer and luxury brands anchored by Harvey Nichols.
The remaining leasees include urban street wear brand, Bench, designer fashion retailer, Hardy Amies, leading high street retailers Jane Norman and JJB Sports as well as children's toy retailer The Entertainer.
Keith Stone, Bristol Alliance Leasing Director, commented: 'We are making enormous progress across the development and these latest lettings continue to demonstrate huge retailer confidence in Cabot Circus. Despite media commentary about the difficult retail market, Bristol’s momentum continues apace. Quakers Friars is well on its way to being 100% let by the time of opening, with the main scheme, The Circus, not far behind.'
