Dutch asset manager Bouwinvest REIM acquired the World Trade Center (WTC) in Rotterdam before the end of 2014.

Dutch asset manager Bouwinvest REIM acquired the World Trade Center (WTC) in Rotterdam before the end of 2014.

The financial details of the acquisition of the property, known as Beurs-WTC congress and event centre, were not disclosed but market sources put the price at around €135 mln.

The vendor is listed holding company Beurs-WTC, which is 50%-owned by the municipality of Rotterdam.

The property was valued at €167 mln in 2009, while the parking garage was valued at nearly €18 mln. Beurs-WTC comprises 36.000 m2 of office space, 7,000 m2 of congress facilities and and 2,300 m2 of commercial space. It also houses an undergound car park with 350 spaces.

Bouwinvest REIM will add the office part of the building to its office fund, while the commercial space will be allocated to its retail fund.
