Bouwfonds Investment Management has hired John van Haaren, previously director of Unibail-Rodamco's Benelux business, as head of commercial real estate asset management.

Bouwfonds Investment Management has hired John van Haaren, previously director of Unibail-Rodamco's Benelux business, as head of commercial real estate asset management.

Van Haaren takes up the position with the Dutch-based investment manager on 31 August and will be responsible for the asset management of Bouwfonds' €2.5 bn office and retail property portfolio.

He replaces Edwin van de Woestijne who leaves on 1 October to become managing director of commercial real estate at Dutch asset manager ASR Real Estate and fund director of the ASR Dutch Prime Retail Fund.

Van Haaren was director of Unibail-Rodamco's Benelux business until March this year and will continue to act as adviser to the European shopping centre landlord on certain ongoing projects until mid-2016.
