Slade's departure comes shortly after BNP PRE closed the takeover of one of the UK's largest property partnerships.

A spokesperson for BNPPRE told PropertyEU that the company thanked him for his work and wished him great success for the future.

Slade told magazine Property Week, which first reported the news, that he was leaving with almost immediate effect and that he had not come to any final decision on what he would do next, although he had several opportunities on the table.

Slade was instrumental in the takeover of Strutt & Parker, which was announced in July and due to complete this month. Following the takeover Strutt & Parker’s managing partner Andy Martin was announced as the boss of the merged firm’s UK business.

Slade joined BNP PRE in June 2012, prior to which he served as CEO of Accrue Capital.

With 60 offices across the UK, Strutt & Parker was the second biggest player in the UK rural market and third in residential, which BNP Paribas said represented 'a new service offering for the UK subsidiary of BNP Paribas Real Estate'.

Strutt & Parker’s residential, rural, development and planning teams will continue to operate under the Strutt & Parker brand, whilst the commercial arm of the business will operate under the BNP Paribas Real Estate brand.
