BNP Paribas Real Estate Investment Management (BNP Paribas REIM) has appointed Nils Hübener as European Chief Investment Officer.

Hübener headed the real estate investments division of SEB Investment in Germany for 10 years alongside its former CEO Barbara Knoflach, who is now the global head of BNP Paribas REIM. This department, a subsidiary of leading Swedish bank SEB, was sold to Cordea Savills in 2015 and subsequently renamed Savills Investment Management. Hübener was also in charge of asset management for SEB Investment's European portfolio since 2013.

Prior to joining SEB Investment, he worked with Deutsche Bank Real Estate, mainly covering the UK and US markets as vice-president of international acquisitions. He later became head of transactions for Western and Southern Europe.

BNP Paribas REIM features in 38th place in PropertyEU's Top 100 Investors ranking published in March 2016. The ranking is based on 2015 European transaction volumes. The company carried out €1.1 bn of investments last year and completed €1.5 bn of disposals.
