Han Khim Siew and Mathieu Brummer have been appointed as co-heads of BNP Paribas Real Estate Asia Pacific, reporting hierarchically to Larry Young, head of BNP Paribas Real Estate’s International Investment Group (IIG).

Khim Siew will be based in Singapore and operationally report to the CEO of BNP Paribas’ Singapore branch, Joris Dierckx. Brummer is based in Hong Kong and will operationally report to Hugo Leung, the CEO of BNP Paribas' Hong Kong branch.

Said Young: 'Since its foundation in 2013, BNP Paribas Real Estate Asia Pacific has successfully facilitated the flow of over €9 bn from Asian investors into the European and UK Real Estate markets across commercial office, retail, logistics and hospitality assets.

'The close collaboration with corporate investment banking, wealth management and asset management across the Asia Pacific region has greatly contributed to this success. The new structure will further enhance cross-selling between the various BNP Paribas group businesses.'

As part of its international development plan, BNP Paribas Real Estate launched two Asian platforms in Hong Kong and Singapore in 2013 with the aim of attracting Asian investment into the European property markets.

These platforms help Asian investors source and manage real estate assets in Europe through a trusted contact based in their local market, using on-the-ground experts.

Khim Siew has an international background having worked in Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei with a career spanning government, private equity real estate and real estate advisory in Asia Pacific & Europe, and served as a director of the Commonwealth Africa Investment Fund in Johannesburg.

Prior to joining BNP Paribas Real Estate in 2013, he was head of investments at Jones Lang LaSalle Indonesia. He is fluent in English, Chinese, Indonesian and Malay.

Brummer spearheaded BNP Paribas Real Estate’s North Asian capital raising efforts since the inception of the Hong Kong platform in 2013, most recently as managing director and deputy head of BNP Paribas Real Estate North Asia.

Prior to joining BNP Paribas Real Estate in 2011, he spent six years on the principle side with Morgan Stanley Real Estate in Frankfurt, Germany, working on acquisitions, debt procurement, and asset management.
