US private equity giant Blackstone has acquired consumer goods group Unilever’s Dutch headquarters in Rotterdam from UBS for around €52 mln, PropertyEU has learned.
US private equity giant Blackstone has acquired consumer goods group Unilever’s Dutch headquarters in Rotterdam from UBS for around €52 mln, PropertyEU has learned.
The property was acquired by Siemens Kapitalanlagegesellschaft for less than €50 mln in 2003 when it was still under construction, and later sold to UBS.
Completed in 2005, the building, dubbed ‘The Bridge’ (De Brug) due to its bridge-like construction, comprises around 20,000 m2 of office space and 450 parking spaces. It was designed by JHK Architects and West 8 Urban Design & Landscape.
Cushman & Wakefield is believed to have advised UBS on the transaction while NL Real Estate acted for Blackstone.
Also on Wednesday it was announced that Blackstone has acquired Microsoft’s Irish headquarters from a group of private investors for a reported €100 mln.
