US investment group Blackstone has acquired Microsoft’s Irish headquarters from a group of private investors for a reported €100 mln.

The Atrium buildings comprise two office developments with a total area of 32,150 m2 in Dublin’s southern Sandyford district. The Irish Times reported the sale price was around €100 mln.

The buildings, developed in 2001, were sold by a group of investors headed by Pat Gunne. Microsoft’s European Development Centre and CRM software firm Salesforce are the major tenants.

Ken Caplan, head of European real estate at Blackstone, said: 'This is a further investment by us in greater Dublin and underlines our commitment to Ireland and the strengthening of its economy.'

CBRE Ireland advised the buyer and JLL acted for the seller.

Separately, Blackstone has acquired consumer goods group Unilever’s Dutch headquarters in Rotterdam from UBS for around €52 mln.
