Asset management group BlackRock has announced the appointment of Justin Brown as a managing director within its real estate team.

Asset management group BlackRock has announced the appointment of Justin Brown as a managing director within its real estate team.

Based in London, Brown will work alongside Marcus Sperber, head of BlackRock's international real estate team, as portfolio manager of the £2.1 bn (EUR 2.5 bn) BlackRock UK Property Fund, which invests in a diversified portfolio of UK commercial property assets.

Brown joins from UBS Global Asset Management, where he was executive director within the global real estate team, responsible for managing and turning around the fortunes of the £1 bn UBS Triton Property Fund since March 2010.

Over his 18-year career, he has held roles at UBS Wealth Management where he gained experience in global real estate, including emerging markets. Prior to this he worked at La Salle Investment Management.
