Dutch-registered group Big CEE has secured a loan of up to €100 mln from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to expand its footprint in the Western Balkans.

CEE BIG will use the loan to finance the development, modernization, and acquisition of modern retail parks and shopping centres across the region.

The company is committed to obtaining BREEAM Good certification or higher for all EBRD-funded projects.

The first two projects to be financed are located in the Serbian cities of Stara Pazova and Cacak.

The total project cost of the project, according to the EBRD, is €150 mln.

Big CEE is a subsidiary of Israel's Big Shopping Centers and operates 11 shopping centres in Serbia and two in Montenegro.
