International shopping center group BIG has acquired the Silwana retail park in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland, from developers Equilis and Acteeum Central Europe.
The €40 mln deal is one of the largest commercial property transactions in the Polish market this year.
The retail park, the largest in the Lubuskie region, set to open on 22 August, will be rebranded as BIG Gorzów. It will be the first in Poland to receive a BREEAM Excellent certification.
BIG Gorzów will span across an 8-hectare site and offer 25,000 m2 of retail space. The park will house 40 shops, including several new-to-market brands like Decathlon, Jula, and Half Price. Shoppers will also have access to an 800-space car park.
Olivier Beguin, CEO of Equilis Europe, said: ‘As a real estate developer, selling an asset before its opening is a major achievement, and we are very proud of it. This is the first sale for our second fund, Duodev2, since its creation in 2022. It confirms the quality of this retail park, developed by Equilis, acting in its capacity as the preferred partner of the Duodev2 fund. We will continue our growth strategy in Poland in the retail and residential segments.’
Eran Levy, CEO of BIG Polska, added: ‘Our activity on the Polish market, where we have built a portfolio of five excellently located investments in less than two years, consolidates our position in the retail park sector in Poland.’
BIG Gorzów will join BIG Polska’s portfolio as its fifth investment after projects in Lubna near Warsaw, Lubin, Andrychów, and Ostróda. After Galeria Chelm and Galeria Andrychów, this is the third retail park developed by Equilis in a joint venture with Acteeum.
BIG Polska is part of the Israel-based group BIG Shopping Centres.
