UK property consultancy Bidwells has appointed Mark Callender from Schroders as a research partner.
He joins from Schroders, where he was head of real estate research on European property markets, helping set the top-down market strategy for a number of Schroders’ funds.
Prior to joining Schroders in 2006, Callender was the research director for the Investment Property Databank Index (IPD) and was the chief economist at the Housebuilders Federation.
He brings with him a wealth of experience working in the high-growth science and technology sectors, as well as research expertise in urban economics, sustainability, and impact investing.

The hire is part of Bidwells’ wider focus on high-growth sectors such as renewable energy, science and technology, and natural capital markets.
Callender will focus on the commercial markets across the Oxford-Cambridge Arc, including driving research on the region’s science and technology clusters.
He will also develop insights about residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments, especially in terms of how they work together to deliver growth.
