Bauwert plans to build a shopping centre, homes, offices, leisure facilities and a business hotel on the historic site, which comprises some 100,000 m2.
The refurbished site will comprise a lettable area of 145,000 m2. Opel itself will lease back around 20,000 m2 of existing office space. A 23,000 m2 leisure park with an automotive theme will be built behind the shopping centre, where Opel will exhibit old models and which will serve as a forum for oldtimer enthusiasts.
