Barings Real Estate Advisers, part of global real estate investment manager Barings, has appointed Marco Corti as director, transactions and asset management in Italy.
Corti will be based in Milan reporting to the country head of Italy, Valeria Falcone, who will expand her role by becoming the portfolio manager for a pan-European value add strategy.
'Marco is a great addition to our team and his appointment demonstrates our commitment to expanding the European real estate platform and strengthening our team in Italy,' commented managing director Falcone.
Corti has over 15 years industry experience and joins from Invesco Real Estate where he was head of asset management in Italy. He was previously a senior associate in the real estate team of Doughty Hanson & Co, part of a team managing a substantial pan-European fund and before that held positions at CBRE Global Investors focused on the Italian market.
Barings Real Estate Advisers made its debut Italian investments earlier in 2017 with the €44.4 mln acquisition of a Milan office for a pan-European value-add strategy and a €51.5 mln acquisition of a retail centre in Asti for a pan-European core investment strategy.
