Investment manager Barings has made several appointments in Germany and the Netherlands in recent months, reflecting the firm’s ambitions for continued growth across Europe.

Jochen Becht, Leon Kräuter, Nikolaus Trotzky, and Viktor Ophoven all joined Barings’ German real estate equity team and are based in Frankfurt.
 
Becht joins Barings as a director in asset management and will report to Johannes Miethke. He has held asset management positions at firms including Allgemeine Hypotheken Bank Rheinboden, Goldman Sachs / Archon, and AXA Investment Managers. Most recently, he ran different development and asset management portfolios at Corestate.
 
Kräuter joins as an analyst in Asset Management from d.i.i. where he was also part of the asset management team. He will also report to Johannes Miethke.
 
Ophoven and Trotzky both join the Transaction Management team and report to Nikolas von Kleist. Nikolaus joins as a senior associate from LGT Capital Partners, a Real Estate Private Equity firm in Zurich where he was part of the investment team and worked on value-add deals. Viktor started as an associate and joined from Peakside Capital, where he focused on transactions for its value add strategy.
 
Meanwhile, Rens Versteeg joins the Benelux Real Estate Asset Management & Transactions Benelux team as a senior analyst and reports to Robbert-Jan van Baal, Real Estate Country Head for the Netherlands.
 
Versteeg joins from the Havenstad Group where he was an investment manager. He started his career at Cushman & Wakefield as a commercial real estate appraiser in the Valuation & Advisory department.
