Barings Real Estate has expanded its team in Europe with the appointment of Sam Mellor, head of Europe originations - structured real estate investments.
In a statement, Barings said that the appointment will support the firm’s geographical expansion into Continental Europe for its debt investment platform.
Mellor will be based in the firm’s London office. His responsibilities will include the origination and execution of investments and the development and distribution of investment products in the space.
Prior to joining Barings, he was with Chenavari Investment Managers, a London-based hedge fund, where he was responsible for the real estate business’s investments throughout the capital structure (debt and equity), in both public and private markets.
