Gelke is responsible for all investments in the North-East region. She is located in the Berlin office, which Barings opened in spring this year. Benedict Rasche, analyst in the transaction management team, has been handling investments from Berlin since the new office opened.

Gelke was previously at LaSalle Investment Management where she worked as head of investment Nordics and Netherlands over the past four years and was responsible for a transaction volume of €850 mln. Prior experience include Deka Immobilien and CorpusSireo Asset Management. Rasche previously worked as an analyst with Ardian in Frankfurt.

Following the repositioning of its German business in 2020 to focus exclusively on investment management, Barings is now covering the entire German market from its local hubs in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich.

Sascha Becker, managing director and country head real estate Germany at Barings, said: 'With Nadine Gelke and Benedict Rasche we now have a powerful investment team on site in Berlin again.

'They will support our investment business in the North-East region, which apart from Berlin also includes cities such as Bremen, Dresden, Hamburg, Hanover and Leipzig.'
