The Urban Land Institute (ULI) has named Barbara Cominelli, CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Italy, as the new Chair of ULI Italy for a two-year, volunteer term.
Cominelli, a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the real estate and technology sectors, succeeded Emanuela Recchi.
Cominelli's leadership at JLL Italy has been marked by a commitment to growth and innovation, particularly in the areas of technology and sustainability initiatives. Her prior roles at Microsoft Italy and Vodafone Group further highlight her expertise in driving digital transformation.
Under Cominelli's guidance, ULI Italy will prioritize the decarbonization of the real estate sector, working towards net-zero emissions. It will also emphasize the social impact of the built environment, promoting regeneration, repurposing, and repositioning of assets to meet evolving lifestyles and work patterns.
Cominelli will champion the role of technology, particularly AI, in shaping the future of the real estate sector. Furthermore, ULI Italy will remain committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, empowering women, young professionals, and individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Cominelli is VP of Assoimmobiliare, Italy’s largest real estate association, responsible for Digital and Innovation, serves on the Strategy Board of telecom company Iliad, and is a member of the Advisory Board of Italian management association Federmanager and financial newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore.
