Belgian property company Banimmo is to develop the new headquarters of the telecom operator Mobistar at Evere in the Brussels region. The future head office, which will be located at the 'Da Vinci' business park, will house the major part of the telecom operator's activities currently spread over several sites in Schaerbeek and Evere.

Designed by architectural firm Assar, the project will provide almost 30,000 m2 of offices spread across six above ground levels. Other three underground levels will accommodate some 630 parking spaces. The development costs have not been disclosed. Construction work is estimated to take 22 months, enabling Mobistar to occupy its new offices from the second quarter of 2009 with a long-term leasing contract.

'The growth of Mobistar had led us to occupy various sites to meet the needs associated with the expansion of our activities. Consolidation on a single site is far more practical and economical. The project proposed by Banimmo meets the highest standards currently in force as regards energy and care for the environment,' said Benoit Scheen, Mobistar CEO.

According to Banimmo CEO Didrik van Caloen said: 'We will have an excellent close to the year. Our results should exceed the objectives announced during our IPO last June'.
