Belgian property company Banimmo has announced the sale of its Sirius office building worth EUR 70 mln to the German closed-end fund Signa. This is Signa's first transaction in Brussels.

Sirius is a built-to-suit office development which is going to host the new headquarters of Mobistar, the second largest mobile telecom operator in Belgium.

The building is located in the Da Vinci Park in Brussels, and represents 29,600 m2 of space leased with a 15 year rental contract. The project was completed in September 2009 and will be occupied by Mobistar from 1 November 2009.

Banimmo said that 'its successful asset trading activity, despite quite adverse market conditions, will enable the company to meet its objectives in terms of portfolio rotation.' The operation will also enable Banimmo to bring its financial debt on balance sheet to below 50%.
