The properties provide a total area of 71,000 m2 which includes about 1,200 apartments situated in Stockholm and Öresund.

'This portfolio fits very well into our long term investment in housing, together with the Third Swedish National Pension Fund,' said Balder's CEO Erik Selin.

Fredrik Eliasson, fund manager at Aberdeen, added: 'The sale takes place before it was originally planned as we have already surpassed the target return as well as investors' expectations.'

Leimdörfer and MAQS advised Aberdeen on the deal.
