Spanish real estate developer Habitat Inmobiliaria has announced the appointment of José C. Saz as CEO in a move aimed at accelerating growth of the company's business.
Habitat, which is controlled by Bain Capital, said that the appointment marks the start of a new period for the group, focused on the development of high-quality projects in Spain's largest cities.
During the next 12 months, Habitat plans to complete several projects currently under development in Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Seville, Córdoba, Valencia and Las Palmas, with a total of 550 houses planned for delivery.
Based in Madrid, the company has also recently re-launched its land acquisition programme. Habitat already holds one of the largest land banks in Spain with the potential to deliver over 8,000 assets.
'We are focused on finding excellent business opportunities in developing quality projects in the main real estate markets of Spain,' commented José Saz.
Saz is an industrial engineer with extensive experience in the real estate, construction and Project Management sectors, both nationally and internationally throughout Europe, Asia, America and Africa.
Prior to joining Habitat, he was CEO Spain for construction group Mace and was subsequently appointed head of Europe and Latin America. He also held the position of CEO for Europe at UK construction company ISG as well as that of general chief operations officer at Neinor Homes.
