A five star hotel that Spain's Azora acquired on the greek island of Rhodes in 2022 has foundf itself in the news for providing emergency assistance to holidaymakers fleeing fires on parts of the island.

Reports say the 401-room Sheraton Rhodes Resort operated by Marriott is among those helping as uncontrolled fires and smoke continue to wreak havoc across a section of the island.

The property was acquired by Azora €43.8 mln on behalf of its Azora European & Lodging fund from Lampsa Hellenic Hotels.

It is located near the northern tip of the island around 34km from fires.
