AXA Real Estate Iinvestment Managers (AXA REIM) has opened an office in Stockholm to help develop its business in Scandinavia, the company announced Wednesday. Jérôme Arnaud will head the operation, which will monitor developments in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.

The main objective of the new operation will be to manage AXA's fairly recently acquired portfolio for the region, valued at around EUR 700 mln.
Separately, AXA IM announced it has acquired its first retail property in Berlin for around EUR 95 mln. The Neukölln Arcaden shopping centre comprises 27,000 m2 of retail space and includes a cinema, fitness centre and library. The complex was acquired for AXA's property fund AXA Immosolutions.
