AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets (AXA IMRA) has appointed Justin Travlos as its new UK head of asset management.
Travlos will join AXA IMRA on June 18, after working 14 years for Australian-listed property company Stockland as regional development manager. In his role at Stockland, Travlos ran a development pipeline of $1.3 bn (€1.09 bn), with responsibility for underwriting, acquisition, design, planning, construction and leasing. Between 2007 and 2009, he contributed to the development of Stockland’s sustainability strategy.
Andrew Stainer, global head of asset management & development at AXA IM - Real Assets, commented: ‘The UK is one of our largest and most important markets. It accounts for around 9% of our assets under management and is home to some of our most significant and high-profile investments. We are delighted to welcome someone of Justin's calibre and international experience to the firm.’
AXA IMRA’s new appointment follows the announcement that Dorrient Thomas, its current UK country head and head of asset management, will retire at the end of 2018 after almost 30 years with the firm.
‘I am joined by all of my colleagues on the management board in congratulating Dorrien for his remarkable contribution to the firm over the past almost 30 years. His impact has been felt not just in terms of commercial success, but also through his contribution to the development of our strong culture and the training he has provided to so many young professionals over the years. His has truly been a career to be proud of,’ Stainer added.
