AXA Investment Managers - Real Assets (AXA IMRA) has appointed Justin Curlow as global head of research & strategy, effective immediately.
Adding to his current role as investment strategist, Curlow will replace Greg Mansell as head of the research team. Mansell, the company said, is leaving to pursue other business opportunities.
Based in London, Curlow will report directly to Isabelle Scemama, CEO of AXA IMRA. He will be responsible for directing AXA IM - Real Assets’ key strategic research projects, its forecasting process and analysis of global real assets markets.
Curlow has been with AXA IM - Real Assets since May 2011, being most recently the Investment Strategist, based in London. He has been the dedicated strategist for core direct property, CRE debt and flexible property funds, recommending targeted acquisition markets as a member of its deal allocation committee.
Before joining AXA IM - Real Assets, Curlow spent six years working for Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (formerly RREEF). Originally based in San Francisco, his research responsibilities included a focus on the US office and industrial real estate markets, as well as real estate debt.
