AXA Investment Managers - Real Assets has submitted a planning application for Assembly Bristol, the 28,000 m2 city regeneration scheme purchased for its €600 mln development fund, Development Venture IV (DV IV).
AXA IM said it expected a decision in early 2017.
'This is the next stage of this exciting concept for both us, our clients, and for Bristol city centre. We are working with a professional team to bring forward the vision for this site, which we believe has the potential to provide businesses with an environment that offers the opportunity to attract leading talent, whilst also ensuring that it fits seamlessly into Bristol’s city centre,' commented Harry Badham, UK head of development at AXA IM - Real Assets.
'Our aim is to be on site to deliver the first of the three buildings during 2017 and we look forward to sharing our plans for the rest of the scheme in due course,' he added.
The masterplan includes the creation of three mixed-use buildings, comprising 27,870 m2 of lettable area plus public spaces. The site joins Temple Meads Station, Bristol city centre and the retail area at Cabot Circus, which is 50% owned by AXA IM on behalf of clients.
The architects on the project are Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, with landscapes designed by Jinny Blom.
Building A, covering 16,723 m2, should complete in 2018 and is currently being marketed by Savills and JLL.
In line with AXA IM’s global portfolio, the development is targeted to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating, WELL certification and a Platinum Wired Score.
