AXA Investment Management - Real Assets has acquired a newly developed data centre in Amsterdam for €36.4 mln.
The 16,330 m2 centre, located near Schiphol Airport, is fully let on a long term lease to an NYSE-listed international data centre provider.
'AXA IM - Real Assets is committed to growing its data centre exposure, due to attractive demand driven potential as well as the increasing need for data storage, as businesses look to take advantage of technological advances to drive output and efficiency,' commented Hideki Kurata, head of alternatives & special situations at AXA IM - Real Assets.
AXA IM - Real Assets' data centre-focused team manages a primarily European portfolio valued at over €200 mln, as part of its alternative assets platform which totaled €3 bn of properties at the end of September 2016. This also includes healthcare facilities, hotels and forestry assets.
