AXA Real Estate Investment Managers (AXA REIM) is teaming up with EDF Energies Nouvelles to develop a solar power plant with photovoltaic panels. The plant will be integrated in the roof of a 88,000 m2 logistics complex which will be built by PRD on behalf of AXA REIM in Fos sur Mer, in the Bouches du Rhône region of France.

The plant is designed to generate 1,677 MW and will feature around 10,700 photovoltaic panels, making it the largest solar power plant being developed in France. Delivery is scheduled for July 2009.

In a statement, AXA REIM said that EDF Energies Nouvelles will be responsible for the development of the solar power plant. The partners are joining forces to create a dedicated company to launch and manage the plant. The project is being financed by an Axa France investment fund.
