This is Avignon Capital’s first German hire, following the firm’s announcement in late-2016 that it would be opening a Berlin office.

'We are pleased to welcome Nico to the Avignon team; Nico has a wealth of experience in the industry and extensive knowledge of the Berlin office market, in particular,' commented Patrick Flaton, CFOO at Avignon Capital. 'His appointment reinforces our strategy for Berlin and he will help us to develop further in this key market.'

Mercker-Sague, who joins from CBRE where he worked most recently in the advisory & transaction team, will lead the asset management activities for Avignon’s German portfolio.

'The opportunity to work for Avignon Capital is a chance to join a dynamic company that has built up a sense of growth and momentum over the past 12-18 months. I look forward to playing a role in driving forward Avignon’s German expansion by leading the firm’s on-the-ground asset management activities,' concluded Mercker-Sague.
